Today has been filled with some perfect food. For breakfast, I really wanted to repeat my strawberry shortcake but couldn’t let myself get away with eating cool whip (cool Hwhip for any Family Guy fans out there!!) so early in the morning so I decided to make a yogurt version. This bowl had vanilla yogurt, strawberries, fresh mango, frozen blueberries, and a biscuit broken up into pieces. Yes, it tasted as good as it looks!

After this bowl and some coffee, I did some cleaning around the house before hitting the gym for 60 minutes on the elliptical. On the way home, I stopped by Sprinkles for some cupcakes. Yup, told you I was gonna make it happen this weekend! By the time I got back to my apt, it was almost 3 PM and I couldn’t wait a second longer so I decided the cupcakes could be lunch too. This little brown box was literally burning a hole in my hand!!

baked fresh in small batches throughout the day, sprinkles cupcakes are handcrafted from the finest ingredients, including sweet cream butter, bittersweet belgian chocolate, pure madagascar bourbon vanilla, fresh bananas and carrots, real strawberries and natural citrus zests. topped with sprinkles trademark modern dots, rich chocolate sprinkles from france or seasonal sugar decorations, sprinkles cupcakes are a deliciously sophisticated update on an american classic. our cupcakes contain no preservatives, trans fats or artificial flavors.

I picked out two to taste test: dark chocolate (belgian dark chocolate cake with bittersweet chocolate frosting) and a St. Patrick’s Day special, green velvet (lucky light chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting). Here they are in all their glory!

First I tasted the green velvet. Will you look at that icing?!

Look at that bright green color! This was insanely good. I ate half and then moved on to the dark chocolate cuppycake…

Again, too good for words! I had half of this guy too. The icing on both was definitely the highlight for me. They were perfect paired with a big glass of milk. I’m full now but can’t wait to be un-full so I can eat the other halves. Cupcake mission was a success!!
The kittens have been “helping” me post…

Oh my goodness! Those cupcakes are amazing! I have never tried a “real” Sprinkles cupcake. 2 years ago I worked at Williams-Sonoma over the holiday season for fun and they sold the Sprinkles cupcake mix and it was really good. I imagine the real thing is even better!

Yay for cupcakes! I have a cupcakes place I’m told I MUST visit, but not until next week…it’s related to my “announcement,” which I’m going to try to post tomorrow.
Anywho, your cupcakes look delicious!! Nice selection of samples there! The kitty pictures are too cute…I love cutesy animal shots!
