I can’t believe I leave tonight for my four day weekend! I’m so excited! Monday morning it felt weird getting back to the grind. I was tired and cranky and even my Tupperware of glorious messy yogurt couldn’t cheer me up.

CIMG6009

After a somewhat stinky morning, I dug into a bowl of “leftovers.” Doesn’t look familiar? When I made my omelet Sunday night, I cooked extra eggplant, mushrooms and onions and put them to the side.  I also made a serving of pasta with my little 1/4 cup.  Plus the addition of an Amy’s veggie burger nuked at the office and voila! “Leftovers.” It was actually really good!

CIMG6011

I also brought some mixed veggies which worked great as an afternoon snack.

CIMG6012

After a somewhat long and uneventful day, I headed home to eat an early dinner before meeting Courtney at the movies! Not in the mood for anything in particular, I started with 1/2 cup of salted edamame.

CIMG6013

Followed by one of the TJ veggie eggrolls.

CIMG6015

And finished off with a little dessert — ice cream! My bowl actually was this size this time :)

CIMG6006

After dinner, Courtney and I met at the Grove to see My Sister’s Keeper. Thank goodness I brought us some tissues because I cried like a baby throughout the movie. I think my contacts were crusty with salt when we left. Gross, but true. Courtsie had never read the book before so I got to tell her about the real ending.  We both agreed that the screenplay probably worked better in this case because the book’s ending probably would have felt like WTF since they can only set up the plot so much in the limited amount of time!

After the movies, we chilled outside on the fountain and talked all about Court’s amazing trip to Italy, boys, acting, moving to Santa Monica, summer plans, and boys again.  It was so great catching up! My dinner/dessert left me pretty full the rest of the night, although I did snack on a few pieces of fresh pineapple when I got home.

Tuesday morning was yogurt. Again. My fun toppings are dwindling down but I don’t want to buy any more right before going out of town!

CIMG6016

Around 11 AM I snacked on some more fruit. I’ve never bought a whole pineapple before — it tastes so fresh!

CIMG6017

Since work was dragging, Julia suggested treating myself to something special to make the day more exciting. As soon as she said that, Poquito Mas came to mind! I got the usual Nature’s Grill Burrito with eggplant, black beans, zucchini, peppers, and onions — sans cheese or sour cream.  You don’t need it, I swear! I had these chips (plus another few handfuls) on the side. Then I was a good girl and gave the rest away to my fellow co-workers who were eyeing my meal with very jealous stares.

CIMG6019

I finished off the day pretty strong and headed home.  I wanted to go for a run but just REALLY wasn’t in the mood. I convinced myself using the old “you won’t regret it” mentality and hit the streets.  I cut the run a little short (maybe 2.5 miles this time?) because every single step was torture. My calves are totally killing me today too. It’s crazy how some days it can feel so amazing and empowering to get outside and exercise and others it just drags! You know?

I got home feeling hungry but not quite ready to sit down to dinner. I hate eating before 7 PM if I can avoid it because I stay up so late and then there are too many hours between dinner and bedtime. Ding! Smoothie time! I worked at a Smoothie King in high school and pretty much considered myself the queen of smoothies. I even brought a blender to college so I could make them at a moment’s notice (everyone eyed me jealously that my mom let me bring a blender to make mixed drinks. Um, no, this baby is for my refreshing pineapple banana protein shakes people!!).  So I used half this 100 calorie protein drink, 1/2 banana and a whole lot of ice to make this pretty, frosty glass of deliciousness!

CIMG6021

See that fuzzy white light around the glass that looks like a halo? Yes, angels were singing.

This smoothie turned out to be the PERFECT thing to hold me over until a later, 9 PM dinner, which means I had plenty of time to shower, clean, blog and do some errands before eating. Dinner was more pure randomness and an attempt to eat a lot of veggies.  I cooked some edamame and chicken but needed to bulk up the dish.  I ended up tossing eggplant, onions, red cabbage, pineapple salsa and chile paste into a pan and cooking it all up together til everything was warm and tender.  This was one of those meals where I had NO clue how it would all taste but I was v. happy with the results! Normally I would make some grains/carbs on the side but all the veggies & protein & spice left me stuffed!

CIMG6024

Not too stuffed to eat a Skinny Cow, of course :)

CIMG5727

Today I skipped the yogurt and had a slice of 9 grain Newsroom bread topped with Better N’ Peanut Butter and some cherry jelly.

CIMG6025

This tasted really good but made me feel immediately sick to my stomach which was weird. Luckily the feeling went away in an hour or so and I was good to go! I had a snack around noon — just some of the delicious pineapple.

CIMG6026

I took a little break to meet up with India for lunch.  She’s been filming in North Carolina and I haven’t seen her sweet face in weeks!! We hit up Century City’s awesome food court and I got my regular mayo-free tuna salad from Coral Tree. Repeat photo, original taste!

coral tree salad

After lunch I was crazy busy trying to finish all my work for Thursday and Friday too.  It was rushed but SO worth it!! Now I am at home, sipping another smoothie and getting ready to pack. I think dinner will probably be a repeat of last night — I really enjoyed it!

CIMG6027

My flight leaves at 11:40 PM and I get into NJ bright and early at 8 AM! I am beyond excited to be home and to see my family.  I will try to recap a bit while I’m there if I can but I’m hoping to be so busy that I hardly have the chance :)

I always have this O.A.R. song running through my head whenever I go home!

There are few things pure in this world anymore,
and home is one of the few.
We’d have a drink outside,
maybe run and hide if we saw a couple men in blue.
To me it’s so damn easy to see
that true people are the people at home.
Well, I’ve been away but now I’m back today,
and there ain’t a place I’d rather go.
I feel home,
when I see the faces that remember my own.
I feel home,
when I’m chilling outside with the people I know.
I feel home,
and that’s just what I feel.
Home to me is reality,
and all I need is something real.

Ah Monday! Today I tried the “fake it to make it” trick and it really worked! I left work with a big smile on my face and ready for a fun night. Oh yeah, the other trick to a good Monday — making plans for a relaxing night :)

The day started with an exceptionally good yogurt mess, packed with frozen blueberries, frozen mango, bananas, strawberries and cereal.

CIMG5796

We had our regular Monday morning meeting, which is never fun. It does move the day along pretty quickly though. For lunch I had a side salad of broccoli slaw and mushrooms topped with a lil balsamic vinaigrette.

CIMG5797

I also had a La Tortilla turkey wrap with Popchips on the side.  The turkey was on its last leg (ick) but it did the trick.  This meal holds me over like WHOA.

CIMG5798

After lunch I took a nice little walk to get some fresh air. It might be chillayy but at least that sun is shinin!!  I got snacky around 4 but decided to just save my appetite for dinner. It was a multi-course meal — my favorite kind!  I started with a little bit of Honey Moon.

CIMG5802

Followed by 1/2 cup salted edamame, nom nom!

CIMG5800

And a TJ veggie eggroll. I love how these are so easy to make AND low-calorie…could it be any better?!

CIMG5804

My roomie was inspired by her trip home to make some Hmong cuisine.  Apparently St. Paul has one of the largest (if not THE largest) urban Hmong populations in the WORLD so restaurants there are aplenty.  LA however doesn’t seem to have any Hmong restaurants (if you know otherwise, let me know, Julia will be so happy!) so she decided to whip up some on her own.  And graciously share with me of course! While she was cooking, I nibbled on a few carrots and broccoli florets dipped in spicy chipotle hummus.

CIMG5801

Julia’s dish contained lean pork, veggies, garlic, EVOO, lemongrass and lots of spice…jalapenos and chile paste! My mouth was on FIRE. It was amazing :)

CIMG5805

Right now we are watching Nurse Jackie and I am contemplating a Skinny Cow to finish off the night. Can you picture it? Probably — here’s a gratuitous shot anyway :)

CIMG5727

On another good note, my girl Amy gave me the One Lovely Blog Award; isn’t she the sweetest?? I love the pretty roses. Thanks for the Monday pick-me-up girlie!!!

one_lovely_blog

I’m supposed to pass this along to another seven people; my bad if you already received it!

  1. Lara, with her fabulous food and adventures across the pond!
  2. Diana, with the best photography skills, hands down!
  3. Kaneil, with her bubbly personality and great advice!

  5. Jess, with her wicked photo recaps!
  6. Biz, with her fabulous meal plans and savory breakfasts!
  7. Coco, with her brilliant food — everything always sounds delicious!

Hope everyone had a great Monday.  See y’all tomorrow!

Just kidding about catching those rays! As the lovely Caroline pointed out to me… “wait, isn’t it supposed to rain this weekend?”…Ryan Seacrest is a BIG FAT LIAR and it’s actually supposed to be 60 and raining. Boo, hiss!!

I kicked off Thursday (can I rename this day to Almost Friday??) with my yogurt mess.

p1013189

Today I knocked some magazine reading off my to-do list. I had a huge pile to get through! Think this times 20. I know, such a hard task :)

p1013190

For lunch, I started with some cinnamon-doused fuji apple slices, which I ate while reading about Chef Chris Bianco’s delicious pizzas. I can’t wait to try his dough recipe!

p1013191

I also had spinach, grape tomatoes and mushrooms tossed in some light balsamic and topped with my leftover bean burgers.

p1013192

I saved some of the burgers to eat along with a sweet potato. This lunch was super filling!

p1013195

At 2, we all got booted out of the office for a building fire drill.  We had to walk down from the 14th floor…YAY for boosting my heart rate!  It was super long, which was annoying, but we got to spend 40 minutes outside, which was nice :)

I grabbed an iced coffee from Coffee Bean because I really needed the caffeine boost.

p1013198

I got a second boost with my pre-workout snack, the Fiber One Chocolate Mocha bar.

p1013206

After work, I was having one of those days where I really wasn’t feeling the gym.  So I made a bargain with myself to do 30 minutes.  Plus, I am out of Kashi and the grocery store is next to the gym :)

After my half hour on the elliptical, I headed home for a good free weights workout.  This is one thing I really want to add back into my routine!

For dinner, I decided to make chicken potstickers, veggie eggroll, edamame and broccoli.  I cooked the potstickers in 1 tbsp soy sauce to get them extra flavorful!

p1013203

p1013200

This ENTIRE dinner, complete with the soy sauce for cooking, comes to 460 calories. Pretty good, right?! Much better than if I ordered from a Chinese restaurant for sure.

Three Things for Thursday

  1. Ordered iced coffee instead of a latte
  2. Bargained with myself to do 30 minutes at the gym AND a free weight session
  3. Decided I was full enough after dinner to skip dessert!

Tomorrow night I am hoping for a relaxing evening, maybe with Bride Wars and another calzone. I have been oddly tired this week and am in need of a major lazy Friday night!

Saturday morning, I woke up way too early as usual, so I caught up on some TV while eating my yogurt mess.  I used another (#3 out of 4!!) of my Oikos coupons and tested the blueberry variety. It was good, but I liked the vanilla better, maybe since I am adding fruit myself anyway.  I am still crossing my fingers on finding the honey one! The Oikos makes for a much thicker yogurt base, can’t you tell?!

p10130711

After a relaxing morning of TV catch-up and packing for my night in Laguna, Becky picked me up and we headed over to the outlets.  On the way, we stopped into Whole Foods for some lunch goodies. I got an amazing mix of different quinoa and wheatberry salads, plus some veggies and pieces of pineapple. I ate every bite!

p1013072

I also ate about half of this piece of chicken for a protein boost. Whoa, I was STUFFED after all these goodies!

p10130741

Finally we made it to the outlets and started shopping for Becky’s upcoming move to NYC.  She leaves in just a few weeks (!!!) for the NY Teaching Fellows and wanted to get some gear for her new work environment.  The Southern California uniform of flip flops, yoga pants & tank probably won’t quite cut it there LOL. We found some AMAZING sales, and I ended up getting a very bright yellow skirt and an equally bright yellow top at Banana Republic. After walking around the mall for 4 hours or so, my still-full belly was asking for some froyo so we swung by Haagen-Dazs and I grabbed a cup of regular vanilla with rainbow sprinkles. This perfectly hit the spot!

p1013075

Tired but successful, we headed back to Becky’s place in Laguna…definitely stopping at Starbucks on the way for a skinny vanilla latte. Yummy and much needed!

p10130761

Back at Becky’s, we lazed around and waited for Julia to drive down after work and meet us for dinner. Becky and I talked about books (thanks again for slipping me The Red Tent!!) and drank her family’s signature Cosmo Lights.  Here’s mine chilling with some cute tabletop decorations!

drink

When Julia arrived in Laguna, we all scrambled to get ready and make it out to dinner before the kitchen closed. Why oh why am I always on the latest schedule?? We got to the restaurant maybe a few minute before ten and immediately ordered a bottle of champagne to celebrate Becky’s birthday. Cheers BeckY!!!!

p1013096

p1013085

Julia & I wanted to take Becky out for a special dinner to celebrate, so we went to K’ya, since Becky had never been there before and we thought it would be nice to do something different. Score!!! This restaurant was SO good. Everything was basically priced to share (served tapas-style and mostly $5 dishes), but the portions were way bigger than we expected!  This place was a real deal! The three of us shared everything below:

Three Cheese Macaroni — wild mushrooms, pesto, truffle crust, parmesan, gruyere & gorgonzola

p1013089

Bruschetta with hummus, grilled peppers, olives & capers

p1013091

Flash Fried Calamari with sweet & spicy thai glaze, bean sprouts, carrots, peanuts, cilantro & green onions (hands-down best calamari I have ever eaten!)

p1013092

An order of crispy sweet potato fries — some people (AHEM!) couldn’t wait for me to take a picture before testing these :)

p1013103

And then we each ordered our own mini burger to finish off the meal!

p1013107

Of course we couldn’t leave without some singing! Our waiter brought over a chocolate cake dessert with a candle and Becky tolerated our off-key, enthusiastic rendition of HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

p1013110

The three of us shared the warm chocolate cake, eaten along with bites of chilly ice cream.

p1013112

But the real star was the French Toast-style dessert. DELISH!!

p1013113

Here’s a picture of me with the birthday girl! Happy happy day Becky, we love you!

p1013095

After dinner, Julia cabbied it home and Becky and I went next door to The Sandpiper (apparently only people who don’t live in Laguna call it that, everyone else just says The Piper) and met up with Kate and one of her friends who was in town visiting along with her brother and two Italian cousins.  We all just danced the rest of the night away!  Around 1 AM I turned into a tired crazy lady and we all made our way home where I got into bed and crashed hard.

Julia & I were up with the sun so we could get back to LA before her 10 AM shift at work. We stopped by the Becky & Kate recommended Shirley’s for breakfast to-go.

p1013134

I got an amazing oat bran bagel with light cream cheese on the side. Everything I ate this weekend was seriously stellar!

p1013136

I also snagged a diet lemon Snapple. For some reason, I couldn’t even attempt coffee. Too early maybe?

p1013139

I got to take a nice little power nap when I got home, which was great and much needed. Afterwards, I spent the day cleaning, doing laundry, and being lazy. Around noon, I snacked on some frozen greens — peas and edamame.

p1013140

Since I had plenty of time to make lunch and didn’t get to do my pizza Friday this week, I decided to make some dough and roll out a mini pizza for lunch. I used the honey whole wheat recipe and separated it into 3 balls.  I rolled some fresh rosemary into the crust too, and 1/4 cup oats, for some extra taste and texture.  I topped the pizza with tomato basil hummus, mushrooms, more rosemary and sea salt.  Very basic and very good!

p1013141

The pizza kept me full for hours and hours. Dinner came in bits and pieces between 7-11. First, I had some red pepper slices.

p1013144

Then I had a chile lime chicken burger with a nice little swirl of ketchup.

p1013145

I could NOT think of what else I wanted to eat with this, but Julia finally saved the day by letting me steal a nice big bowl of her spaghetti squash.

p1013146

All my dinner items were eaten simply to get me to dessert. I had a huge craving for ice cream ALL day yesterday and decided to eat some after dinner instead of during the day (for me, that always turns into eating it ALL day).  I found a new slow churned limited edition flavor that I haven’t seen yet — S’mores — and just had to give it a try!

p1013151

This flavor has chocolate and toasted marshmallow light ice creams with pieces of marshmallow, graham crackers, and chocolate chips. It’s awesome!! If you like s’mores, I definitely recommend this one!

On a somewhat unrelated note, I read about Jenna @ Eat Live Run’s terrible loss this morning, and wanted to just put it out there to the universe that everyone is thinking of her and to please send some positive thoughts and vibes her way.

Hope everyone is having a great Monday! Hmm, is that an oxymoron?? :)

Almost forgot!

Three Things for Saturday

  1. Skipped the pizzas and pastas I was eyeing at WF in favor of the whole grain salads, veggies and protein
  2. Ordered non-fat froyo at Haagen-Dazs instead of ice cream
  3. Decided not to snack before going to dinner, ever though we didn’t eat until 10

Three Things for Sunday

  1. Ordered light cream cheese on the side and spread a pretty thin layer on my bagel
  2. Made my lunch pizza without any cheese
  3. Refrained from eating any of the homemade oatmeal chocolate chip cookies Julia was baking last night (smelled amazing though!!!)

I’m out of my best yogurt supplies! B-fast today was a mess with the rest of my strawberries, half banana, some figgies & kashi.

cimg4521

For lunch, I started with a salad that was a duplicate of the one I ate last night. So easy to make two at once and eat one the next day!

cimg4522

I also dug into the remaining 6 inches from the sub I got yesterday. Usually these still taste great but the bread was SO SOGGY. Ick. So I just ate the turkey and some of the veggies and left the bread.

cimg4524

Instead of bread, I had some pretzels. More than this one cup to make up for my lack of carbolicious goodness :)

cimg4525

Of course, I was v. hungry by the end of work, so I ate the other half of my breakfast banana to help tide me over.

cimg4526

Still not enough! I ended up skipping the gym and went home for an early dinner. I started with frozen edamame.

cimg4527

Then came a gorgeous, crispy slice of red pepper!

cimg4538

I also rolled out the last piece of my pizza dough from Friday. I got 3 meals out of this recipe!  I topped the honey whole wheat crust with grape tomatoes, mushrooms, goat cheese, rosemary and sea salt.

cimg4542

After dinner, I decided to try Yogurt Stop for some froyo! I got chocolate, peanut butter, and vanilla bean. I always choose chocolate over vanilla, but this vanilla bean was awesome!!  Mango and rainbow sprinkles were the perfect toppings, plus a cube of red velvet (which surprisingly wasn’t that good, weird…).

cimg4546

Okay, does anyone else think this is the most random frozen yogurt logo ever?! Welcome to Hollywood!

cimg4545

Right now I am stuffed to the max and watching the last five minutes of TBL…freaking!!!! How cute was Mike talking with his brother, by the way??

And now, for my exciting food news!!!  Foodbuzz sent out an email last week annoucing that they have again partnered with Pebble Beach Food & Wine and are sending 8 featured publishers to the Lexus Grand Tasting Event. To enter, you had to fill out a form and answer a few quick essay questions, and then Foodbuzz selected based on proposed coverage creativity and enthusiasm for the event! Well, apparently I am very enthusiastic about food & wine (duh, who isn’t??) because I am getting to attend the Tasting Event this weekend!!

Here are some more details from Foodbuzz:

Lexus Grand Tasting at Pebble Beach Food & Wine is the most spectacular opportunity to enjoy over 300 wines from 200 of the world’s most prestigious wineries.  This is a must-do experience for anyone who loves food and wine.

I am so excited!! I can’t wait to speak with the chefs, taste the food & wine, meet Foodbuzz staff & other bloggers, PHOTOGRAPH, and enjoy this awesome opportunity!! Pebble Beach is in Carmel, CA, about 5-6 hours from LA. I am planning to just wake up super early and make a day of it!! I think the long drive will definitely be worth the fun day, don’t you agree?! I put down to attend Saturday, but I am still waiting on final confirmation of the day, when I will find out which chefs I will get to see in action. WOW! The more I talk about this, the more excited I get!! I can’t wait to share my day with you guys!! I wish we could all go together LOL.

Anyway, that’s my foodie news :) More details to follow!!

Leaving you guys with a pic of the kitten babes…such smooch faces.

A Year of Healthy Eating

It’s funny, these awards are like a much more fun version of email chain letters LOL. Okay, on to Thursday’s eats! For breakfast I had the usual with cherry berry blend, 2 figs, 1/4 cup kashi, half cup puffins, half banana. Puffins and I are going to have to break up…more on that later, you will see!

cimg4083

We had catered meetings in the office again yesterday, so it was food overload. I decided to stick with my own lunch, but added this nice plate of fruit.

cimg4084

I also had a Perfect 10 bagel with 2 tbsp lemon cilantro hummus, half a green pepper, and the remaining crackers in my box of Kashi cheddar. I definitely could have used a few more of these, love ‘em!

cimg4085

For dessert, I had a bite of this chocolate bread my boss brought back from her business trip to NYC. It was good!!

cimg4087

A few more grapes made it into my mouth right before leaving the office! I skipped the gym in favor of cleaning. In between wiping counters, putting away junk, vacuuming & washing floors, I nibbled on some snacks and read a new girly book. I had some v. frozen edamame — check out that ice!

cimg40911

Plus a cup of diet hot chocolate & coffee. This was okay. I think for now I will stick to either one or the other!!

cimg40921

I also paused the cleaning for some dinner. Last night nothing sounded especially appealing but I wanted to make sure I had some veggies, so I went with a spinach, mushroom, red pepper, red onion egg beater omelet with a sweet potato on the side. I got impatient while microwaving the potato and pulled it out too early so some parts were a lil tougher but that didn’t stop me from chowing down, of course!

cimg4093

After dinner I treated myself to the one thing that had been on my mind all night…yes, pb puffins. I started out with a nice, normal 1 cup portion. The real trouble started when I grabbed the box and settled back onto the couch with the box & my book and started to mindlessly eat…

I CAN’T BUY THESE ANYMORE!!!! Seriously, I bought the box last night and it is almost gone. I am so annoyed at myself, and it’s such a stupid thing to be annoyed over. I know that a little part of it has to do with the time of the month — I tend to have one week of insatiable hunger and cravings. But still, all that aside, I just have no control whenever I eat this cereal! Maybe this seems like I am making a big deal out of nothing but it just feels very indicative toward my food attitude lately. What do you guys do when you need to curb back your free-for-all eating habits? Any advice is seriously appreciated!!

cimg4094

I brought the box of puffins to the airport so my mom could taste them and get them off my hands! Of course, she loved them too :)

I was SOOOOOO excited to see her! I got to show her my apartment and kittens and roommate, which is awesome. It’s nice knowing that now when I talk about all of these things, she will know exactly what I mean. She also brought me a box of the much coveted Dunkin Donuts MUNCHKINS!!! Some of my most perfect days have included long drives along the ocean in the summer early mornings with a DD iced coffee in one hand and a glazed donut in the other. HOWEVER, for some crazy unknown reason, there are NO Dunkin Donut locations in SoCal. Which means that these guys are a very rare treat!!

P.S. I love that the slogan is “America Runs on Dunkin.” UMMM California is in America too people!!! Okay, calming down now haha.

cimg4097

cimg4098

I made some nice homemade rooibos tea lattes for me & my mom and we cuddled on the couch and watched The Office & 30 Rock while munching away. Okay, much of the munching was by me, I must admit. And no, we didn’t eat all of these but I definitely had more than my fair share!

Tonight I am having a big dinner at my place so my mom can meet all my girls out here and vice versa! I have stocked up on wine, cheese, bread, hummus, crackers, chips, salsa, pasta, chicken sausage, eggplant cutlets…we will definitely be feasting tonight! I think there are going to be 8 of us all together. I’m so excited!!! Last time my mom was in LA, I had maybe 2 girlfriends? I’m so grateful to have met so many awesome people since then and I can’t wait for them to meet her!!!!

Hope everyone is having a fantastic FRIDAY :)

Today I woke up around 8…seriously, why can’t I sleep in?? I made my usual yogurt mess for breakfast.  Here’s a shot pre-messiness. I just got this big bowl at Target yesterday. I love the butterfly/flower detail!

cimg4003

Today I cleaned and did laundry alllllll day long. My mom is coming to visit THURSDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t wait to see her and for her to see my new apt and the kittens. I am trying to pull everything together so my place looks perfect. For lunch I ate a piece of potato pizza and a piece of fruit pizza. MMM!

cimg4022

cimg4023

Plus a lil cup of frozen edamame for some green action.

cimg40251

I am the WORST at weekend snacking, especially when I am around my house and not out & about all day. I really tried to be good about that today…I had a few cubes of juicy mango and later some popcorn and diet Pepsi. Not too indulgent, for me at least!

cimg4028

cimg4027

For dinner, all I really wanted was ice cream. I was having the biggest cravings for it all day! So I started out making 1 serving of the cheese & cheddar pierogies…

cimg4029

…but then Julia got home and we went for a walk to Target to get some art supplies (more about this to come!! We are making v. cool paintings for our living room!!) and grabbed not one but TWO containers of Dreyer’s Double Churned Ice Cream — French Silk and Mint Chocolate Chip.  I kicked off the ice cream extravaganza with a mug of coffee.

cimg4030

Here’s bowl #1! Oh yeah, plus Magic Shell. It was necessary, I promise.

cimg40321

As was bowl #2! YUM!!! Worth it, totally worth it.

cimg4033

Now I am off to bed, so sleepy! Can’t believe it’s Monday again already :)
