Yay, Friday! Today’s yogurt mess was very yellow. I am out of all my colorful fruit but I found some frozen pineapple in the back of the freezer to add to my lemon yogurt, half banana, 3 figs and 3/4 cup Kashi.

Speaking of Kashi, I decided to use my coupon for a free Kashi meal at lunch!  Luckily there is a grocery store within walking distance of my office, but it’s one of those places where a container of string beans costs 8 bucks.  So usually I don’t shop there, but I figured they would have a good selection.  As I was trying to decide, I remembered — Good Friday! There was only vegetarian option, so I grabbed the Garden Vegetable Pasta, plus a package of steamer Green Giant veggies. Lots of boxes 🙂

Here’s the stats for this entree — broccoli & yellow squash w/white beans, Kashi 7 grains penne pasta, roasted red pepper/garlic/4 herb sauce — 300 calories, 7 g fat, 9 g fiber, 11 g protein. The pasta was really good and didn’t taste microwaved at all!

I also heated the whole packet of veggies (2 servings) to eat on the side.

Green Giant immunity blend veggies (love how these are “immunity” blend LOL) — broocoli, julienne carrots and red & yellow sweet pepper strips in a garlic-herb infused EVOO seasoning @ 50 calories, 3 g fat, 2 g fiber, 1 g protein per serving. Also really delicious!

At first I was a little iffy on the Kashi entree…it was good, but it seems like something I could make at home. But then lunch lasted me all day through dinner, which never happens! So I definitely might consider spending a little more for a frozen entree that can actually keep me full!!

After work, I hit the gym for a quick 30 on the elliptical. The thirty minutes was a time I bargained with myself, since I didn’t really feel like going at all 🙂

Dinner was pizza, the ultimate comfort food! I made my own dough with whole wheat flour, salt, honey, water & yeast.  I split the dough in half and have some saved for tomorrow. I topped my pizza with grape tomatoes, goat cheese, rosemary & arugula.  I had three of the four pieces. This pizza was so filling!

Now I am catching up on Law & Order SVU episodes and eating some Easter candy. Can’t get enough of these sweet treats!!

Tonight’s pizza and candy is something I admit I’ve been trying to avoid eating too much of, but I think I needed this bout of emotional eating. Sometimes I just give into my emotions when things are particularly rough.  I never used to eat for comfort though and I’m sure that plays a part in my too-tight jeans as of late.  Anyone else ever do this? At this point, I think time might be the one thing that will help 🙂
