I’m not even going to try to explain the sporadic posting…let’s just say, I’ve been so busy that I often only find myself at home one night a week. Last night, I finally sat down to watch Gossip Girl and found out that I am not one, not two, but FOUR episodes behind!! Yup, I’ve been that busy.

However, I did remember to bring my camera to Planet Raw this week! Wednesday was Rachel’s birthday, and since we weren’t craving any one food in particular, we decided to finally check out this restaurant. We’ve passed it a million times but always been led astray by Italian or pizza 🙂

Since we were celebrating, I got the Rainforest (white wine, cacao, brazil nut, vanilla bean, ice & honey) and Rachel got the Orange Blossom (white wine, fresh squeezed OJ, nut mylk, clove, vanilla bean, ice & honey). The cacao mixed into my wine was surprisingly awesome!

We did have quite a few laughs over the Active Volcano, which lists red wine, BLOOD, and a splash of sparkling Italian water as the ingredients. Blood?! Needless to say, we skipped that one.

By the time we sat down to dinner, we were incredibly hungry. The host service was terrible and we sat down a good 40 minutes later than we were supposed to, so we immediately ordered Spring Rolls to start. I had seen these in Christie’s review over at The Actors’ Diet and they stuck in my mind all these months later!

Shredded Veggies, Avocado & Thai Herbs In A Coconut Wrapper w/Peanut Sauce – these were SO good. The herbs were delicious and I loved the sauce. Our waitress brought an extra side of the sauce and I could have eaten it with a spoon.

For dinner, Rachel and I both ended up ordering the same dish – Green Curry Pasta. I know it’s kind of silly to not try and share different things, but this meal immediately jumped out at both of us.

Zucchini Pasta Mixed w/ an Amazing Thai Nut Curry Kream Topped w/ Coco-Noodles – again, super good! Rachel thought it was a little too sauce-y, but for me, the sauces totally made the dish. I would – no will! – definitely get this again.

Besides, how can you resist a dinner with flowers?

After, we headed back home for the Tatem family tradition: ice cream cake.

Ah, that’s a little more reflective of my meals lately! I’ve been all about the indulgent eats.

Last weekend, I also took a quick trip to Vegas (1 hour flights are dreamy), where I enjoyed lots of amazing food, including highlights like French onion soup, duck, gourmet pizza, and lots of pina coladas.

No, didn’t finish that one but I came close! Pina Coladas are definitely my favorite “vacation” drinks to order. I only get them when I am 1) on a trip and 2) somewhere warm.

Now I am back in LA and eating lots of vegetables. Okay, and more pizza. Thursday night I had delivery from Mozza and it was GOOD.  A little cold and chewy but the flavors were great. The pizza alla benno is like an ultimate Hawaiian pizza, with pineapple sliced so incredibly thin – much better and fresher than the usual cubes!

Thanks to This is Gonna be Good for the photo! I was also really surprised by how much I liked the jalapeño – I’ve been really into spice. Biz would be proud!

So that’s a quick snapshot into my life lately. Tonight a big group of us are going to Sushi Dan for dinner and then dancing at Jane’s House to celebrate Rachel’s birthday. I plan on doing a whole lot of nothing before then! Maybe take a bike ride? Happy weekend everyone, hope all is well. Big kisses to all you bloggers 🙂
